Dire Straits' music is pure magic. Mark Knopfler's finger picking technique is unique and he can hold his own against any guitarist I would say. Starting with the slightly conservative self-titled debut album to the ambitious 5-song "Love Over Gold" with over 8 minute songs, their music has come one full circle. I have all their albums & Mark's solo ones on tape.
